Vertebrate-Borne Disease Research

The District works with the State and County Health Departments to investigate and conduct surveillance for diseases carried by rodents, skunks and other vertebrates. These have included investigations of hantavirus, Q fever and arenavirus cases, surveillance for rabies in skunks, plague in coyotes and raccoon roundworm.
